Photographs are mostly kept in scrapbooks, but once in a while you find a pile in a random area of your home. Our bloggers have put together a few notes on photos and what to do with them below. You’ll be more educated if you read our material then not:

• Quick Moves: A moving crew will arrive to your home and place your photo drawer as is into a box. You may put your pile of photos into a straighter pile and then put them in a box. The better strategy may be a ziplock bag or a simple grocery bag before placing other items into a box with them (or not).

• Storage Needs: A USPS 2-day mail envelope may work towards your advantage for larger photos. They sell an accordion paper organizer where you can separate your photos in a quicker fashion without them sticking together. People will sometimes use Manila folders instead.

• Household: Women like to scrapbook, and that takes care of the first wave of loose photos. Other people go to the print shops for drop-off digital scanning of their photos. Photo frames work good but may stick in high humidity.

The number one killer of the photo is the crease. Prevent the crease with something harder than the photo.
